Q: "What's the deal with your title? Is this a Pirates of the Caribbean thing?"
A: No, it's not a Pirates thing. Actually, my wife, Erin (warkymom.blogspot.com) encouraged me to start blogging. As I was trying to come up with something witty for the title, my inspiration came from above. Above my head that is.
Erin and I were shopping at Ross one day when we couldn't afford much. We stopped by the framed art aisle and I happened upon this picture and I laughed so hard.
I thought that only an idiot would buy that and put it up in their house. And then I decided that I was that idiot. Erin argued with me and tried everything in her power to stop me from buying it, but I was not to be deterred; and in the end, she agreed...I was that idiot. It had to be in our office!
The greatest attribute about this picture is that it is 3-D! Yes, the skull and crossbones come out from the picture! So when I decided to blog, it had to be an ode to my idiocy.
Q: "So is this blog going to be all things Pirates?"
A: Definitely not. But now you know how my brain works. I'm a very randomly witty person. Funny things pop out at me in the strangest places and I'm always trying to make a pun out of nothing.
Q: "What is this blog going to be about?"
A: Randomness. And the joys of finding things interesting and funny in the strangest places. I hope that you'll be able to enjoy it.

ReplyDeleteBTW - the picture reminds me of a restaurant I used to go to with my folks back where I grew up in southern California. It was called, "Jolly Rogers". No kidding. It really was.
